INTRODUCTION

The Investment Committee is the unit responsible for the implementation of the investment process. The process includes the following: A global macro economic assessment, portfolio modeling, portfolio risk management and measurement.

The investment committee consists of Brett Immerman, Jackie Solomon, Juanita Dawson, Jan van Staden, Natalie Lambley, Nadia Fourie and Carol Axten. Collectively, they have over 50 years experience in the management of shares, money market instruments, debentures, securitised debt, warrants and certificates, bonds, derivative instruments and participatory interests in collective investment schemes.

GLOBAL MACRO ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT

Definitive Capital Management and Definitive Asset Management manage both domestic as well as international portfolios on a direct basis. The macro economic factors that have a direct or an indirect influence on the assets held are constantly monitored. Some of the economic variables that are monitored include, but are not limited to: Leading economic indicators, manufacturing PMI, retail sales, consumer sentiment, unemployment, indicators of economic activity, business confidence, vehicle sales, yield curves, capital flows into equities and bonds, and global and local volatility.
